Structure and Functions of the District Assembly
The District Assembly is made up of:
- The District Chief Executive (DCE)
- 70% of members elected by communities through direct ballot on a non-party basis
- 30% of members appointed by the President in consultation with traditional authorities and interest groups
The General Assembly is the political and administrative authority in the district. It performs deliberative, legislative and executive functions under the leadership of the Presiding Member.
